Dear Applicants,
Over the last few weeks, we’ve had cases of your applications undelivered to us through ordinary post. We’ve reiterated many times over that ordinary post is, unfortunately, quite unreliable these days, especially if it’s near to any festive season.
Pos Ekspres only costs RM3.00 and at least there is a 99.9% chance it won’t get lost. We’ve had one case where even a Pos Ekspres did not arrive. *Sighs*
In any case, for the 99.9% that it WILL arrive, isn’t it worth spending the RM3.00 (instead of the 60 sen stamps for ordinary post) to ensure that there is a 99.9% chance that you will receive your aid of RM100 for a cat or RM150 for a dog?
For the 0.1% chance that it does not arrive, please always take a photocopy of your receipt. You can always fill up another form, but you cannot always get another receipt.
And please check with me by email after 4 days of posting if you still have not received your claim from us. If indeed your mail is lost, get the photocopy certified by your vet and post the photocopy and another form to us.
We are here to help you, not make things more difficult for you, so we will do our best to ensure you get your claim, but please do your part too?
On another note, we have cases or new applicants who get their information from unreliable sources. For example:
Case 1: The unreliable source says the receipt and form only have to be emailed and do not need to be posted to us. The applicant emails scanned copies of receipt and form, then does not bother to check our reply.
When we don’t pay, the applicant gets angry, citing, “But so-and-so says only have to email everything, no one told me I have to post!!”. Okay, we hear you, but if you are applying for aid, don’t you think you should get to the source and get all the requirements right instead of hearing from so-and-so? And our contact is by email, so shouldn’t you also check your email for our response?
“But I have no time!! I am very busy, you know?”
Yes, who isn’t busy?
Still busyness aside, sorry, we cannot pay until you post us the form and receipt. We need the original receipt.
“But so-and-so says no need to post?!!!”
I would reply a few times, then, if the applicants insists on listening to so-and-so (who says there is no need to post), I will leave it at that.
Case 2: We have encountered new applicants who don’t seem to understand the word “post” even if it is conveyed in three languages (including Chinese) and neither do they understand the following statements:
A. Please go to the post office and POST the form and receipt to us.
B. Sila pergi ke pejabat pos dan poskan borang serta resit kepada kami.
C. 请把表格和收据邮寄给我们。
None of the above statements could convey the message, unfortunately; the applicant just keeps emailing the scanned copies of the form and receipt (wondering why emailing isn’t accepted), so instead of creating frustrations on both sides, I’m now resorting to sending this picture below:

I hope this picture succeeds in painting the message accurately.

I am amazed with the amount of patience you have in ‘layan-ing’ these stubborn, lazy bums who obviously choose to ignore the simple requirements needed. They are taking your good nature for granted. Take care of your health Sis. More love to you…
I laughed out aloud at the last two photos of Pos Ekspres envelope and letter box. It’s like kindergarten level- show and tell to get the point across.
Hope all’s well with you and kitties despite these trying and stubborn applicants.
