Minnie and Smurfy refuse to stay put and eat every morning. I think I’ve figured out why. They still have their basal and primal instincts, they need to “hunt” before eating. But of course “hunt” here means “play”. So I have to let them play to their hearts’ content before they would eat. This is possible only because I am working from home. Once I go back to work, they would have to wait until I get home before I can serve them food. Hopefully by then, they would have adopted an indoor-cat way of life and eat when they are served.
So, since they need to hunt/play before eating, let’s play!
Let the kittens out!! This will definitely keep the two adults on their toes.

Today, all four kittens have made it up to the tunnels. Yesterday, it was just Rey who managed to Spider-Cat up the cage. Today, it is all four. And yes, including Robin.

Anywhere can be a play spot for them. They will just devise their own games.

The two take a break from keep watching and shepherding the four kittens. It’s hard work, especially for Smurfy, who does a better job than Minnie.

Tabs decided she is much safer being with the titans in the Lions’ Den aka Bunny’s Place.

A favourite play spot for the kittens is this gap between the cage and the grille. We call it the Lorong Tikus! They just love playing here. In-out-in-out and round and round they go.

There are 2 adults and 3 kittens in the two pictures above. While everyone is still in play mode….

…Robin found a comfortable place to….take a nap!
I hope there’s nothing wrong with him, though. He always likes to sleep. I’ve been checking the kittens’ tongue ulcers. Rio and Robin still have theirs but I think Lynx’ has healed. I’ve been applying Afta Med on them as per the vet’s prescription.
So, in between all the playing, I managed to get Minnie and Smurfy to eat. The kittens too had a mid-morning meal. They get to eat as often as they like. For now, so do Minnie and Smurfy since both could use with some weight gain.
