Taking the win

I know that as the cats age, there will be many medical issues.

Cow and Bunny are 16. Cleo is 15. Indy is 14. Ginger and Tabs are 11. All are senior.

Before this, it was managing Bunny’s eye ulcer. That took more than a month. Bunny was on the e-collar for three weeks and it was very challenging. I had to constantly give him collar-off time to groom. He didn’t like the daily eye drops too. The antibiotic also led to constipation and after that was over, I had to regulate his bowel movement all over again. I had to devise a new protocol for him. That took some time as well, but it’s pretty regular now. It’s good enough.

I almost thought the ulcer would never heal. But here he is now, Bunny with his bright eyes again. I’m very grateful.

This morning, Bunny decided to migrate to a new spot – Vincent’s table. Even though Bunny is almost blind, he knows his way around pretty well. He can jump up to chairs and low platforms too.

Cow had a lot of brown discharge from both his eyes for about a week. I gave him Maximus Ophtal (Bunny’s eye supplement) and that seems to have solved the problem for now. I’m very grateful for this too, that it wasn’t anything more serious.

For now, Cow takes the big bed every morning.

Fair’s fair, Cleo. You stole Cow’s mat from the table.

Things aren’t perfect and will never be. I’m grateful for “good enough” and will take the win whenever I can.
