I was able to discuss plans for Cow Mau’s hyperesthesia with the vet today.
The vet is interested to find the cause of the seizures, which could be due to (1) an ectoparasite bite (hence, we started with the Advocate spot-on yesterday to rule that out first), (2) some intense itch or (3) pain in the back/spine (check by X-ray).
Advocate spot-on would take 3-4 days to work, so if by the fifth day Cow is still throwing seizures, then we will bring him in for further exploratory check. If needed, then he will start on anti-seizure medication.
This morning, Cow threw a fit again, after breakfast. I didn’t get to see it, but he was already lying on his back and there were sprays of urine.
The vet asked if Cow had a confused (blurry) look after that or stumbled when he walked. So far, Cow has not exhibited any of such signs, as far as I know. Immediately after a seizure, he would just walk and was as normal as ever.
Maybe this is a beginning stage, but let’s hope we can arrest it and not allow it to develop further.

Meanwhile, Cow is enjoying the pillow. No snatching from Cleo.
I hope the Advocate spot-on works and we need not explore further.
