Catio-ing Bunny’s Place too

Since we are catio-ing up Ginger’s patio for Minnie and her boys, we thought we might as well catio-up Bunny’s Place.

I’ve never really been happy with the result of the multiple trial-and-error jobs done at Bunny’s Place. We didn’t know Indy and Pole would be clever enough to escape, so our first design was a total flop, then came the second and the third. The third was finally Indy- and Pole-proof but it certainly wasn’t Minnie proof. Minnie escaped so easily in her very first visit to Bunny’s Place. It was a piece of cake for her. If Minnie could do it two years ago, it means Smurfy and Rey can definitely do it too. In fact, Rey escaped as a kitten and landed up in the neighbour’s garden. We had to do a mini-rescue to get him back. And now, all of them are adults with the same athletic physique, so I won’t be surprised that all five are seasoned escape-artists. Or rather, seasoned climbers who thrive on challenges.

So, we are catio-ing Bunny’s Place as well. It’s been a totally crazy, dusty and very noisy day, and I’m totally drained from all the noise.

Bunny’s Place is in a total mess right now, with the work half done.

I’m so very sorry, Bunny. Your place is in such a terrible mess. It will be done real soon. Just be patient.

But something else happened today, which was totally my fault. We had to keep Cow, Bunny, Indy and Cleo inside Bunny’s Room from morning until evening because of the construction works. There are three litter boxes in the room, but Bunny did not use them. I simply could not let Bunny out during the afternoon as the workers were doing a lot of work, bringing in heavy equipment and materials. So by the time I let Bunny out the moment the workers left, Bunny quickly went to squat to try to defecate. Nothing came out. I quickly gave him Cisapride and Lactulose. He strained a total of seven times (it was so heartbreaking and I know how it must feel) and before that, I had already called the vet to get an appointment for tomorrow. I also called another clinic in Subang Jaya but they were already closing. I was going to rush Bunny to the emergency vet’s for an enema when on the seventh try, he pooped!!

This big, long, glorious poop!!

Good work, Bunny!! You did not give up!

Tomorrow I would have to figure out how not to lock Bunny and gang in the room for so many hours.
