This afternoon, we heard a sudden horrendous sound in the porch. It sounded like a cat fight! So we quickly rushed out only to find…
Samantha!
Alone?
Yes, alone.
Then again just now in the evening, we heard that same horrendous sound again. It was exactly like the sound of a cat fight. So again, we rushed out and it was….
Samantha again.
There was actually nothing wrong. She wasn’t exceptionally hungry. There was still kibble in the bowls.
So I finally figured out what’s happening.
Previously, it was Riley and Samantha coming together to the porch and it was always Riley who would call us with her high pitched mewing. It wasn’t the sound of any cat fight. Just very high pitched kitten mewing. Samantha had never made a sound before.
So now, with Riley indoors, there’s nobody to make the arrival announcement, so Samantha is compelled to “talk”. Hence, the sound, but wow…what a sound!!
Well, it definitely gets our attention, that’s for sure!

Here is Madame Samantha after eating her dinner.

Eating again.
And just now, I saw her playing with Gerald. So it looks like Gerald decided to hang around and we hope he will do his CNRM-duty of preventing other cats from coming onto this stretch of our stretch.
Creamy was sighted on the ledge, as usual. That has always been his favourite hangout place from months ago. He likes to sit on the ledge and watch the Super Seniors.
Riley is recuperating upstairs.
And I need a rest because the cough has got really bad now – it’s the flu (sorethroat, bad cough, feverish, heavy in the head feeling). Bummer!
