I got up at 4am this morning and went up to check on Riley. She was nowhere to be found in her room, but there was faeces in the litter box, which is great!
The raw food I left last night was not eaten at all. I’d have to start training her to eat raw food again. Two days prior to her spaying procedure, I wanted to ensure she ate well so I gave her back her favourite canned food. But the fact remains that there was once she actually ate a 100% raw meal so this means it probably can be done again.
I came downstairs and found Riley sitting under the bluish stool. This is good, she is starting to explore around the house and not confine herself to the room anymore.

I wanted to feed her in the kitchen but she was too scared to eat there, so we settled for eating on the stairs. This is her favourite Monge Seafood with Chicken and I added some Cubgrub to it, but the Cubgrub was untouched.
After eating, Riley made quite a racket all over the house, mewing loudly, which is what she used to do whenever she came with Samantha to call for food at our front door. Luckily she is still small, so her mew isn’t loud enough to wake the neighbours (I hope!). I don’t know if she wants to go back outdoors, though. But it’s still the rainy season now, with very heavy thunderstorms. Where would she seek shelter when it rains? In the big drains? What if she gets swept away by the gushing waters?
Also, I’m supposed to keep her indoors for 10 days after her spaying procedure to ensure full recovery. So no, I’m not releasing her now, that’s for sure. I was hoping she would be willing to stay indoors, especially being so small in size. But the vet assured me she can survive outdoors because she has grown up on the street.

Mew, mew, mew…

Not easy to take her photo as she doesn’t stay still!
Today is Day 11 that Riley has been confined indoors and she has been quiet all this while, just staying behind the TV in the room. Why is she only making noise today? It is as though she knows that she has been neutered now and that she deserves to go back out to the street?
I hope she will settle down soon.
