For the past two hours, I had the fright of my life.
I could not find Samantha anywhere in the house. And I looked everywhere multiple times.
I asked Riley where she is, and even Riley did not seem to know.
I checked everywhere, over and over again, even the toilet bowls.
It was absolutely crazy!
Then Gerald came to the porch and started calling. I thought he wanted food so I went out to give him some but he didn’t want to eat. He wanted to come in.
That gave me an idea, with Gerald inside, surely Samantha would come out, right?
WRONG!
So Gerald came in and as usual, was very vocal. He was mewing so loudly but there was still no sign of Samantha. Riley came to Gerald and together, the three of us went all over the house looking for Samantha. Gerald seems to regard the house as his own and went from room to room searching and mewing. Very, very loudly.
WHERE could she be?
I already panicked by now. There are no dangerous spots in the house. I even searched the storeroom even though the door was closed and she couldn’t have gone in. I even went out and looked all over the roofs, just in case she got out.
It was totally unexplainable. With Gerald mewing, surely she would come out, right? And by now, Gerald also seemed very worried (that’s how I perceived it, anyway). I found myself apologising to Gerald. We’ll find her, Gerald, we will find her. Oh gosh, what have I done?
Suddenly, out of nowhere, I caught a glimpse of the familiar calico colour…
Samantha suddenly appeared in the living room. Right smack in the middle of it.
Goodness gracious…!! Where did she come from??

She walked across the beds and went to the back of the TV.

Even Riley could not find her before this. My goodness.
So much for the Japanese method of asking street cats to help look for your lost cat. Riley couldn’t even find Samantha and she was inside the house!

Thank you, Gerald, for “mewing” Samantha out. You’re a hero.

The hero is now sitting right next to me. He wants to be a house pet.
Could he have been someone’s pet?
