Bunny’s morning

There’s been not much change on Bunny’s condition.

But I’d like to thank my friend, Emma, for helping me by reading up ways to help Bunny. Emma is the one who reminded me about the drooping head syndrome needing potassium supplementation. Emma also reminded me that Bunny doesn’t have much fat now so he might be feeling cold. So a hot water bottle might be necessary when it’s cold.

I’ve blocked off the wind from Bunny’s cage, so I think he’s fine where he is.  If it rains, I will put a hot water bottle nearby.

This morning’s subcut.

I don’t put the fluid bottle on the clothesline anymore now as it’s way too fast and I cannot see the marking on the bottle accurately if it is so high up. The other day when I did that, we were finishing the remaining fluids in the bottle so that was fine.

Bunny is also on Nutriplus Gel as a supplement.

I also clean the pantry floor every morning with eco-friendly dishwashing liquid. I would use water alone, but since there are ants (probably attracted to the tiny food splatters here and there), I use mild dishwashing liquid. The idea of using dishwashing liquid for pets and pet areas came from a holistic vet a long time ago. She told me that she only bathed her dogs with Chandrika soap (which is herbal) and she bathes her cats only with dishwashing liquid. She said that is the safest.

We do have ants quite often because of food splatters from the cats’ bowls.  And now that Bunny is laterally recumbent, he won’t be able to move away from the ants, so I wash the entire pantry every morning with dishwashing liquid. Just a few diluted drops is enough to keep the entire area ant-free.

I rotate Bunny’s sleeping position more often now, to prevent bedsores from happening.

As always, thank you, dear friends, for rooting for Bunny.

All I want is for Bunny to feel more comfortable. I know a recovery is quite impossible in his present state. That would be a miracle, so I’m realistic about it. But I will do everything I can to help him, if only to feel more comfortable.
