Ever since I started feeding the kittens at 3pm today, there has been no loud mewing. So I think they were hungry.
Samantha was also in a sitting position, refusing to allow them to nurse for the first half of the day.
She allows me to feed Indra and also Akira, but she won’t allow me to feed Kai. Maybe she knows Kai has enough milk (and she is right).
I think Indra, being the smallest, is not able to suck much milk. Even when I feed them, Akira drinks up 1ml voraciously whereas Indra can barely finish 1ml. I have to break it up into three rounds, just to finish the 1ml of milk.
Poor little Indra.
I read that for puppies, the weight gain is 10% of the present weight per day, so I think that’s a fairer measurement and it makes sense since the weight increase every day, so how can it still be 14g per day, right? I’ll use the 10% too, but at the same time, try and make it to 14g per day, if possible. Just being kiasu here…

All asleep soundly, no more mewing loudly.

I noticed that right after feeding him, Indra would go for Sam’s nipple to suck. I cannot figure out why, though. Maybe the syringe-feeding is a stimulant for him to go for the nipple?
The website says that to know if the kitten has had enough milk, their bellies should be plump and full.
