The Princesses had been going behind the bed headboard for many days now. But today, all three went missing from the room.
I finally discovered that they had made a hole in the fabric of the back of the headboard and crawled inside to play.
Indra and Akira came out to eat dinner but Kai did not.
Kai reminds me so much of Rey. She is very adventurous, just like Rey.
She’d also be most willing to forgo a meal just so that she can play. “Play first, eat later” seems to be her motto.
Well, princesses have that luxury. Unlike Hiro, all three have never tasted street life, not that I want them to (of course not!).
So Kai had gone in to explore and judging from the sound and after putting my hand inside as far as I could reach, they are using the wooden frame inside as a jungle gym. However, I also felt some metal spikes.
The hole is way too small for me to explore further and I could not get to Kai. I also did not have the luxury of time to wait for her to come out.
So I took a scissors and cut the hole much, much longer, reached in and took Kai out. I was planning to patch up the (now) big hole with cloth. So I got some cloth and with needle and thread, tried to patch it, but I could not because the fabric was pulled too tightly. There is no room for me to stitch at all. Those who know sewing will know what I mean. I can poke a needle in only vertically but cannot stitch it out. So, patching is impossible, and now there is a big hole.
I called my husband up and we decided there is no other way but to shift them out of the room. It would take time for them to grow bigger until they can no longer squeeze through to the back of the headboard. For now, no matter how much we push it against the wall, there is still a gap for them to squeeze in.
In fact, this morning, I had already opened the door of their room, but surprisingly, none of them came out to explore.
I guess they were so happy with their newly discovered “jungle gym” behind the headboard, so who wants to come out, right?
By then, all three had sneaked back into their jungle gym but since the hole is big enough now, I managed to get each one out.
I prepared the family hall for them.

They will need time to get used to this brand-new environment. It is safer than inside the room, given that inside the headboard can be dangerous.

They are now under this bench.
Toilet-training would have to start all over again because the litter boxes are in different places now. Please wish me luck!
