I met the three MUDA members today. They were Yen Hau, Azeemah and Adam.

Yen Hau is camera-shy so he took the photo. That’s Azeemah and Adam with me.
Basically, it was the few cases of abuse which had surfaced lately that made this group of MUDA members feel that they would like to do something to help street animals. So they searched on the internet and found my open letter to their president. From there, they contacted me.
It is good that young people want to take the initiative to do something.
The meeting took up to two hours, mostly with me explaining what One-Street CNRM is, how important ear-notching is and how I was hoping that through their community service centres and outreach, they might be able to mobilise their members or the community to practise CNRM from the ground. We need to reach far and wide, but at ground level. The people need to start getting their animals neutered. They need to understand why neutering is so important. There is no need to wait for legislative changes even though that will be very helpful.
Azeemah had a simple proposal which I made suggestions to so she said she will come up with a revised proposal. Adam was interested in organising a seminar for their MUDA members to be informed about the concept of CNRM and from there, do more outreach through the social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. If MUDA members themselves are mobilised to do CNRM at ground level, I see a lot of potential.
Yen Hau was hoping that as a political party, MUDA could attempt to make a difference at the legislative level. I said that would be wonderful and gave him five suggestions of what kinds of changes we would like to see.
It is great to see the good intentions of young people wanting to do something to help street animals. As a political party, they have the members to do the outreach and be influencers amongst the youths.
Our future lies in the young. There is no doubt about it.
These three young people might not have had decades of life experience, but they have the sincerity and intention to do something positive. This is definitely better than speaking to seasoned politicians who only give lip service, or worse, empty promises or back stab.
We shall now await the revised proposal from MUDA.
There is hope.
