There is no need to wait for Mondays to go meatless!
Fridays are good too.
This is my brunch for today.
That’s capsicum, tomato, lettuce, to be made into an omelette.
Boiled green peas and broccoli.
Here’s my vegetable omelette with greens!
Bon appetit!
Selamat menjamu selera!
I don’t use salt or seasoning because I can taste the natural flavours of the foods. You actually can if you eat mindfully, I think.
I’m still doing intermittent fasting with the occasional cheat days (to reset). I find that the intermittent fasting and the daily 2km walk in the sun (yes, for the free 20,000 units of Vitamin D) is really good for me. My intermittent fasting is quite flexible too. It is anywhere between 12-16 hours.
I have a friend who does a very strict keto diet (absolutely no carbs) with intermittent fasting and his blood test readings have all normalised from “disaster level – off the charts” to “absolutely healthy”. He doesn’t even exercise.
So, when it comes to food, it’s “whatever works for you”.
But going plant-based once a week or more, cannot be wrong as that’s eating compassionately and saving some lives.
I will never forget what a young boy asked me during one of my public talks a long, long time ago. He said: How can I call myself an animal lover if I still eat meat?
Now, that’s food of thought, isn’t it?
And children don’t lie.
