Today I had the great opportunity of meeting up with Saudara Zayd Shaukat and En Adam Chuah from MUDA Subang Jaya.

Even before the elections, Saudara Zayd had said he was interested in doing something for the street animals in Subang Jaya. One of the items on his manifesto was to implement TNRM, actually.
But the people were just not ready to give MUDA a chance yet. Or, animal lovers are the minority, as always.
In any case, now it is all about moving forward and serving the community.
I talked about what AnimalCare does, ie. the education, the support and financial aid that we have been providing for street animals and their caregivers since we started 14 years ago, and the challenges faced by caregivers.
We agreed that the most important thing is the education and getting young people involved and interested in helping street animals. It is all about the outreach and getting more members of the community to participate in CNRM (Care-Neuter-Return-Manage). While each animal lover does their part, we also need the numbers to effect meaningful change in the community.
We look forward to working together with MUDA on CNRM. But granted, it will take sometime for them to organise events and projects to this end as the elections has just ended and this is a period of recovery for everyone.
