While there is a tricky method to get Akira to eat, it’s trickier with Cleo.
Cleo is a very suspicious cat, so she will only eat AFTER Cow has eaten and from the same bowl, starting with leftovers from Cow.
It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s often enough. Today was one such day.
This is why it takes the longest to feed everyone at Bunny’s Place. Akira needs her preferential feeding pattern and so does Cleo. And Indy too – he has to be hand fed if it’s Coco&Joe’s or Cubgrub. He is only willing to eat by himself if he gets kibble, raw liver or canned food. Quite the junkie, this guy.
Cleo will only eat after everyone has eaten. This, I think, is to ensure that all the food is safe and has been tested by everyone else (okay, nobody got poisoned or died, so the food must be safe). And she only trusts Cow. So she will eat from Cow’s bowl and it has to be Cow’s leftovers. Once she starts eating, I can add food to it – that is permissible.
