How to make Minnie eat her probiotics?

Minnie and Samantha are the untouchables in our clan of 18 cats. I can even touch Misty nowadays, but not Minnie or Samantha.

The other day, during the housecall to vaccinate the Monsters, Minnie couldn’t be caught, so she had to skip her annual booster.

Yesterday, Minnie vomited her food, so I have two medicine and supplements for vomiting – Famotidine (liquid) or Omeprazole (capsule) and Maximus Pro GI (powdered probiotics).

Famotidine and Omeprazole is out of the question, so I tried sprinkling some Maximus Pro GI into her food, hidden within the food.

Guess what, she sniffed it out (of course) and avoided that part of the food. In fact, she got so suspicious, she decided not to eat.

I’m not eating. It smells funny.

Robin ate it up.

Sigh. I might try again later, maybe with more aromatic food like canned tuna. But I bet she will also sniff it out.

If you have any tips on feeding medicine (in this case, it’s just probiotics, which is palatable but it is a “strange and unfamiliar” odour), to an untouchable cat, please do share. Thank you!
