As per planned, I bought pumpkin for Indy. Got it steamed and saved two portions in the freezer for later. This portion, I mashed. It brings back memories of the time when I managed Bunny’s defecation problem. Bunny had chronic constipation and I tried “everything”, from home remedies to supplements and medicine. I used to make pumpkin for him too and had them frozen to be used later.
And I took photos of his faeces daily for monitoring. Did the same when Indy had his chronic diarrhoea too. I created a poop album for them! Those were the days.
As it turned out, we later realised that Bunny had Inflammatory Bowel Disease which has no cure, only management, which is what we did. From IBD, it progressed to lymphoma of the gut and that spread to the brain.
But let’s get back to Indy’s once-a-day oatmeal stools now.
First things first, is it even Indy’s? But who else’s could it be? That’s Indy poo spot. Right? I cannot be 100% sure so that’s why I’m opting for safe food-based remedies like the probiotic and now, pumpkin.

I mixed some Ciao chicken paste.

Ready!

Ready or not, here we come, Indy…and Cow Mau too?

Cow Mau was very interested to eat the pumpkin-chicken paste. Hmm…then it dawned on me, could the oatmeal stool be Cow Mau’s and not Indy’s???
Indy: See, I told you. How do you know it’s mine?
Since Cow wanted to eat it, I let him eat. After all, it’s pumpkin, there’s no harm. But Cow couldn’t eat much because pasty food gives me the discomfort in his mouth. It’s something he has to live with. The only thing I can do safely is to flush his mouth with water, which I do daily. Steroid injections help too, but that is not advisable since it is a drug that can cause other negative side effects like diabetes and suppressed immunity. So, no steroids. Just flushing with water and if need be, transdermal Tramadol for the pain. So far, he has only had two steroid injections (and no more) and daily water-flush with a syringe. He only paws during and after eating. Not all the time.

The Blondies and Samantha congregated to see what this new exciting food is.

Akira came from behind to steal some. Sneaky little thing.

I handfed Indy most of it and let Cow Mau eat some too, just in case the oatmeal stools are from him.
Now, who has been passing out the oatmeal stools? I really need to find out. But our CCTV camera doesn’t cover the sandpit. Let’s see if we can adjust the camera…
Cow Mau or Indy?
Or who? Cleo? Samantha? Kai? Akira? Indra?
Aarrgh…. I really have to find out!!
