I had to take some time to digest the results of the medical check-up of our Super Seniors yesterday as it was all a bit chaotic at the vet’s. Then I had to rush home and settle everyone in, give them their medicines and update their medical records before I forget anything important.
So, here’s a summary.

Cow Mau’s kidneys are working fine (phew!) and his blood pressure has come down to normal now. It’s just his heart condition that we have to monitor. He has new supplements for his gum inflammation (mouth pain) and his joints.

As for Cleo, it looks like her creatinine level is hovering at around 450 or so. It doesn’t look like it is coming down. But then again, Cleo’s been having CKD for more than four years now, so as long as she still feels good, it’s good enough. Her blood PCV is still acceptable. But the vet suspects there could be something amiss that we haven’t found out, so Cleo is going for an ultrasound scan and urinalysis tomorrow.

As for Indy, his CKD came as a shock to me two weeks ago, and yesterday, the discovery of him having high blood pressure (systolic reading was 180mmHg) was also another shock. Indy showed no symptoms of either one. But I’m glad we discovered it and he can be treated for it now. Indy’s blood PCV is also acceptable.

From left: Indy’s, Cow Mau’s and Cleo’s.

Hey, Akira. Stop trying to steal Indy’s renal kibble!!
