What’s cooking, girls? What’s the excitement all about?
Ohhh…it’s Gerald on one of his regular visits!
For new readers, Gerald (the ginger cat on the ledge) is the Blondies’ father. I’m 100% sure because I witnessed the mating myself and that was when I caught Gerald and Creamy to be neutered (on that very same day). Then, it was a great challenge to finally lure a pregnant Samantha into the house and let her deliver the girls and the rest, as they say, is history.
Now, why won’t I let Gerald come in to stay with his family?
Well, there are three reasons. Firstly, I’ve let Gerald come in many, many times, but he isn’t happy being confined. Secondly, Gerald and Misty are the best of friends in our porch. One cannot function and will not eat without the other. Thirdly, our warriors, Cow Mau and Indy, might accept girls, but they will certainly not accept any boy-cat in Bunny’s Place. Just look at the fights between them and the Monsters!
So Gerald has to stay outdoors (where he is happy, I’m sure) and be content with visiting his girls.
Kai and Indra take after Gerald’s ginger colour, but not his striped markings. Gerald is a striped ginger.
Samantha: That’s your father up there, Akira.
Gerald comes around every day, so he’s a regular.
