The use of live puppies as bait by Perhilitan: Have you received your reply from DVS?

Dear readers,

Ref: https://animalcare.my/2023/10/02/rayuan-kepada-perhilitan-and-jabatan-perkhidmatan-veterinar-an-appeal-to-the-dept-of-wildlife-national-parks-and-the-dept-of-veterinary-services/

We urged everyone to write in to DVS and lodge an appeal.

I received their reply today. Unfortunately, it says clearly that the contents of their reply is confidential and I’m not allowed to share it with anyone.

After having read the reply, I am relieved.

The reply made me realise two things: Firstly, it shows that we must not make conclusions on our own based on what we read (which I did not, I merely shared the report by kosmo.com and if you read it again, the report was accurate (but many people made assumptions based on what they read). Secondly, as I had explained to a few friends, it doesn’t pay to hit out at any quarters because knowing the human ego, no human likes to be told off. Appeal, persuade, plead, coax, yes. But try not to scold (which I did not too) unless you know all the facts and even then, appeal first. Do it nicely first. It pays to be nice. Most importantly, it pays not to jump to conclusions or worse, make assumptions, which unfortunately, is a human weakness.

Thank you to all readers who lodged your individual complaints. I hope you have received your replies from DVS.

Thank you, DVS, for investigating at the location and responding promptly.

All’s well.

I hope the puppies, even though kept safe, were not unduly frightened.

But lastly, it would still be better to use meat as bait.
