It had been brought to our attention through an article published by Kosmo.com: https://www.kosmo.com.my/2023/10/02/bau-hamis-tiada-beruk-petanda-ada-harimau/ that live puppies were used as bait by Perhilitan to lure and capture panthers in the Kuala Pilah area.
Below is our appeal to Perhilitan and DVS to kindly stop using live puppies and instead, use meat or any method which does not involve live animals.

Live baiting is ethically and morally cruel. Please use tasty dead meat instead.

Why live puppies & even dogs are used as live baits to capture animals in the wild. Why these beautiful, lovable & loyal animals used instead of meat from other sources. This cruel act has to stop.
I write in support of NOT using live bait. I am sure there are more humane alternatives. Please show some compassion. Thank you.

This is morally cruel and should be stopped.
Have a heart for God’s creations. Do not use inhumane methods to catch animals by using innocent puppies. Don’t ever forget that it is this creation of God which is used for search and rescue missions to find humans when natural disasters like landslides occur. Their welfare matters too. Stop this cruelty towards innocent puppies. Think out of the box to solve this problem and don’t resort to such cruel ways.

Barbaric practices are only use by outdated people / organisation who are still behind in ethics, innovation and empathy.
The Malaysian Government under the “Madani” slogan; should educate its Perhilitan Department to be compassionate towards dogs, which are protected from cruelty under Malaysian Law & be prosecuted if the story is true! Why couldn’t they use a dead chicken instead or a piece of beef??
This country has so many *mercy* to discard dogs life like trash. If our brilliant government is really truthful to healing tye country, offer more abandoned lands to genuine NGOs to execute TNR like what i had been watching on role model NGOs *believe animals in Taiwan*, so many things we could reduce stray population.
