Indy’s ultrasound and X-rays – all clear!!

Today was Indy’s appointment for his ultrasound and X-rays to check if there is any cancer.

All clear!!

If you are reading the images above, you will see a lot of fluids under the skin because I had just given Indy his subcut this morning.

The verdict: There is no evidence of any cancerous mass in both the ultrasound and the X-rays. All other organs look good, actually. Only the kidneys have shrunken (what a pity). But now we have hope in the stem cell therapy!

So our vet will recommend Indy for the stem cell therapy for his Stage 3-4 CKD. We hope the stem cell vet will evaluate and approve the treatment for Indy. However, being at Stage 3-4, the improvement, if any, will not be as pronounced as those who are in Stages 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, the ultrasound shows that Indy’s left kidney is smaller than his right. The right had been smaller since 2019 when he was first diagnosed with mild kidney disease (but overcame it through 8 months of subcut fluids).

I also discussed with our vet about whether it is okay to give our CKD cats and Cow Mau Cindy’s Recipe’s canned food as a snack since they do need some variety in their diet, if only for their taste buds and appetite. The phosphorus percentage in Cindy’s Original with Broth is only 0.001% – 0.005%. That’s very little phosphorus. Maybe it is because typically, 85% of phosphorus is found in the bone matter of an animal and only 15% is found in the soft tissues and other parts of the body. Cindy’s canned food does not contain any bone.

Our vet says it’s okay to give it as a snack to them. So at least we have some variety for the novelty factor now.

Way to go, Indy! You will always be our Indy Jones!!

So, so apt to describe Indy. It’s indeed, the mileage. Always robust, athletic and very intuitive!
