I came downstairs at 5.30am this morning to find Cow Mau waiting eagerly for me at the door of Bunny’s Place.
He looked hungry….and he was!!
I know Cindy’s pureed food will not be able to satiate his hunger as it is only 8% protein, so I took a chance and offered Coco&Joe’s, which is Cow’s favourite food. He ate two helpings! There was the occasional pawing, but it was manageable.
Then he wanted more food and I decided to try Hill’s KD canned food (I suspect Cow Mau already has kidney issues because of his heart condition so Hill’s KD canned food would be a good choice for him. But I worry about the texture because it is sticky and the food will definitely irritate his mouth.
He ate that too, and I kept adding and adding, and I he ended up eating three-quarters of the can!!
That is absolutely amazing!!
But the texture irritated his mouth quite a bit so I’m going to try adding water next. However, with Cow Mau, he normally doesn’t like it once water is added. Maybe little by little…
He needs more water too because he is quite dehydrated. Because of his heart condition, he can only be given 60ml of subcut per day.
Anyway, the improved appetite is amazing! The reduced pain is equally amazing.
Cow Mau is so alert now. The bounce-back has been incredibly and unexpectedly amazing.
