Indy’s sudden downturn

Indy suddenly vomited blood this morning.

He wasn’t happy with breakfast and subcut. After that, he vomited blood three times.

I rushed him to the vet’s. His kidney readings are all off the roof and he is very, very anaemic, with an HCT reading of only 6.4%, which is the lowest I’ve ever seen in any cat so far.

And yet, Indy surprised the vet by standing up and showing absolutely no signs of weakness. But his gums are very, very pale. And the vomiting of blood is due to very high urea that resulted in internal haemorrhaging.

There is nothing more we can do since his kidneys have totally shut down now.

I asked the vet to give him everything possible to make him as comfortable as possible and he is home with me now.

It could be a matter of hours.

I need to stay with Indy now. He is very quite and at peace.

Your kind thoughts are most appreciated. Thank you.

This was yesterday’s meal.

He rejected food this morning.
