We have provided a full sponsorship of RM410 for the neutering of these 2 dogs and 1 cat. (RM180 per dog and RM50 for the cat) The dogs are jointly cared for by JoTong and Mr Wong Woi Kan while the cat is JoTong’s personal rescue. Please see next post for the vaccination claim for…

  • Your cat’s dental health – wet food or dry food?

I found this website while researching on feline dental health: https://www.wellpets.com/blog/170-wet-vs-dry-cat-food-dental-health/ Do please take a look at the articles as dental health is really important for our cats (and dogs!). I’ve copied this part out below. There’s always been the age-old contention about kibble being good for dental health. The ones who disagree would ask…

  • Now, THIS is how you brush a cat’s teeth!

Ming-Yi sent these videos! Dorami and Mina are incredibly obliging! Are you able to do this with your cats?  None of ours will oblige for so long!

  • Jayden and Indy

Jayden loves Indy! Our Super Senior Warriors are Indy and Cow Mau and yet, they are very gentle, patient and restrained with Jayden. I think they understand that Jayden is just a toddler. Awww…. All the girls aren’t as patient. That’s Indra. Jayden: Indy is my best friend too!

  • Whoopee! Cow Mau has NO proteinuria!

Believe it or not, I managed to collect Cow Mau’s urine today. I happened to see him urinating so I took a chance and walked towards him with a bottle. Luckily he didn’t mind it and I managed to fill up half the bottle with urine. I’m relieved that the colour looked “okay enough” and…

  • NGOs highlight ill effects of fireworks on animals (an FMT article)

Thank you very much, FMT, for writing about this! The article: https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/leisure/2024/03/11/ngos-highlight-ill-effects-of-fireworks-on-animals/

  • Happy Meatless Monday!

This mouth-watering vegetarian dish is from Ayaana’s at Nu Empire, Subang Jaya. Note: Ask for half the rice or no rice! This vegetarian nasi lemak is from Organic Fresh Mart & Restaurant, also in Subang Jaya. Note: Ask for half the rice or no rice! Have a happy and healthy Meatless Monday! Good for the…

  • Cow Mau’s updates

I took a chance and weighed Cow Mau just now. Now, I don’t know whether to celebrate or not yet…. On Wednesday at the vet’s, using their scale, he only weighed 3.55kg (his usual weight was 4kg). So that’s a massive weight loss which isn’t good news. Cow Mau has cachexia (muscle wasting) which isn’t…

  • Jayden and his best friend, Ginger

Jayden can only play with a few of our cats because the rest are scared of him! So, amongst our “safe for playing” cats are Cow Mau, Indy and Ginger. Jayden wants to play with ANY cat, actually, but the rest are scared of him because he’s too excited! Jayden: Me and my best friend!

  • Jayden and Cow Mau

Jayden definitely has a natural affinity towards animals. I do wonder whether he is born with it or he learnt it…. But it’s a good thing, of course! The youngest and the oldest! Cow Mau will be 18 years old in May and that would be equivalent to about 88 years old in a human.…

  • Peace, grub worms!

I wrote about our garden some months ago and the “battle” which we had with the grub worms. We had Japanese grass in our garden but during the rainy season, colonies of grub worms flourished and we had a really hard time “battling” with them. On hindsight, it was completely foolish to do “battle” with…

  • Neutering aid for 1 cat in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (Tan Chok Yen’s) & Updates

We have fully sponsored RM80 for the neutering of this male cat. Another female was also sent for neutering but was found to be pregnant, so Ms Tan understands that she cannot claim for that cat as we do not provide aid for such cases. Ms Tan informed us that she is not able to…

  • The huge Kai-Rey fight

Ginger vomited hairball this morning and all his breakfast and supplements came out with it. It’s been quite long that I have not allowed Ginger and the Monsters to go over to Bunny’s Place. The medicinal “Heidi” grass is also all gone now, and I suspect it is because of the urine sprays onto the…

  • The Blondies’ portraits

Akira and Samantha. Kai and Indra. Today, they all ate dinner and nobody decided to fast intermittently! They had Coco&Joe’s, Cubgrub’s Duck and Chicken. Later, they will ask for junk!

  • A dog in the rain

Something made me go out to look and there he was, this dog standing in the pouring rain, opposite our house, looking right at me. Poor thing, that’s usually a call for help. So I took an umbrella and went out to the dog. He wanted to come to me, but then he decided not…
