Samantha and Indra comfort Gerald

Whenever Gerald mews, Samantha and Indra come to comfort him. It’s quite touching, and I’m glad Samantha has decided to rekindle the old friendship, with the help of little Indra.

Gerald and Samantha were partners in our porch 1.5 years ago before I caught Samantha and only after that did Misty enter the scene. Gerald sired Kai, Akira and Indra and on that very day when I saw him mating with Samantha, I caught him and Creamy for neutering. Samantha was still free and as her pregnancy progressed, I finally lured her into the house so that she could give birth safely. I was counting the days since I knew exactly when they mated. With Samantha gone from the porch, Misty entered the scene and became Gerald’s new best friend.

So, Samantha and Gerald have a history.

Now, she has decided to comfort Gerald and I think that is a very nice thing to do.

All cats are empaths.

In fact, I think Creamy came yesterday morning, not to ask for food, but to comfort me. He did not come today.

I would find either Indra or Samantha near Gerald.

One mew from Gerald and Samantha comes.

I also saw Samantha and Indra rubbing themselves on Gerald earlier when Gerald was mewing.

Kai isn’t as invested in this endeavour.

Akira too.

Whenever Gerald mews, I’ll be there for him.

And so are Indra and Samantha.

Even Riley is helping. She’s under the bed.

You’ll never know how kind and compassionate cats are until you live with them. Unlike dogs who shower you with lots of physical affection, cats show it in different ways. We just have to be able to feel it.

It’s definitely there. In this respect, they are so much more compassionate than many humans who have the gift of language for communication but cannot even find it in them to say, “I’m so sorry for your loss” or “Is there anything I can do to help?”, or “I’m here for you”.
