Gerald and the Blondies’ feeding challenge

It’s getting to be even harder to feed the Blondies with Gerald’s influence.

Gerald, unlike the Monsters, is also a very picky eater. One would think that being an outdoor cat, he would eat anything that’s served? Not true.

Because I have to stop Gerald’s early morning yowling the moment I wake up or come downstairs, I have to quickly feed him first. And because of this, I have decided to change my schedule to feeding Blondies as well, but it isn’t working. The Blondies refuse to eat.

I only managed to get Akira to eat. Even Gerald refused to eat. He just wanted to make noise. Everyone else also refused to eat and I ended up serving bowl after bowl of different foods to entice them all to eat, only to fail miserably.

Not eating.

Not eating. I wasn’t going to waste my time trying, so I fed Creamy instead.

Creamy finished the raw food.

Then I fed the Monsters – they are always a joy to feed.

And I came back to the Blondies. This time, I just put out two plates of food and adopted the “If you want to eat, help yourself” principle.

Gerald finally ate with Kai and Indra.

By just putting out plates for food, I think everyone ate something of their choice. In their own time. Everyone except Samantha.

Riley is one of the hardest to feed too, but she also finally ate. That’s after being force fed earlier.

Gerald’s mewing has been bearable today.

He was playing with Samantha this morning.

Samantha finally ate. The thing with raw food is, once I put it out, I have to monitor the food and keep it all back (if uneaten) within 10 minutes. Otherwise, it spoils quickly. Canned food would last longer being left out there for these extremely choosy cats.

It’s about 10 days since I’ve kept Gerald indoors now. Taking it one day at a time and coping as best I can. I really hope he settles down.
