There’s still the yowling, but luckily, Gerald hasn’t resorted to yowling in the middle of the night…yet.
Generally, he yowls the moment he wakes up from a nap. My vet-friend told me that for outdoor cats, they are so used to roaming after they get up, so that’s why Gerald yowls. He wants to roam.
I took him out for a trip to the park this morning.
Harness off once we are in the middle of the park.
This is his favourite activity, walking along and jumping from slab to slab. Then, rolling on the slab.
He doesn’t roam far at all. He’s always next to me.
But a friend came to talk to me in our previous trip and I think she doesn’t like cats, so Gerald was very wary of her in the previous trip. This morning, Gerald spotted her taking a walk on the road and he froze. He tensed up and his eyes were following her as she walked. It was really so far away, but Gerald saw her. I’m told that cats don’t have good vision; they rely totally on smell. So did Gerald smell her? We will never know, but one thing I’m sure is that his eyes were following her.
We’re home, safe and sound.
Gerald is not exactly easy to feed too.
I bought chicken gizzards for him, which he loves. But he doesn’t want them for every meal too. He needs variety. So, he is almost as difficult to feed as the Blondies! I have to offer all kinds of foods before he’s willing to choose what he wants for a particular meal.
One day at a time.
I hope Gerald doesn’t mew too loudly but he does have a very, very loud and ringing mew. I’m not sure if the neighbour is unhappy as I heard some “unhappy sounds” from their house today. That is the only problem, really.
