We have been sleeping in the living room for the past few days. It started when I had the flu and I haven’t exactly fully recovered yet, and it’s just so easy to just sleep downstairs.
The happiest of them all with this arrangment is…Riley!
If we sleet upstairs, when we go up the stairs, Tabs has established a rule: Tabs gets to go upstairs and she doesn’t really welcome Riley following. Riley knows this and she will stay downstairs by herself for a few hours. It is only in the middle of the night or at pre-dawn that Riley will quietly sneak upstairs and get onto our bed.
But when we sleep downstairs, there are no such rules anymore!
You might not see Riley smiling, but she is actually so, so happy. When we sleep downstairs, she gets everyone’s company and she even organises her own mini slumber parties and plays with Tabs!
Riley will invite Tabs to play chase and obstacle course race. It is really like little children playing in slumber parties. Which child doesn’t like this? So, while we watch tv, Tabs and Riley will be running around the living room.
Yay!! Slumber party time!!
But I still get the bed.
Tabs is generous enough to share the bed. Good girl.
