Gerald, where are you?

We last saw Gerald yesterday, after breakfast.

He ate his breakfast, then my husband saw him casually walk down the road, like he was attracted to some cat sounds in that direction. He looked curious. Not excited, just curious.

Then, he did not come back all day and by evening, we went out to look for him, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Only Socks came by.

And later last night, a neighbour rang our doorbell. Her cat had been missing for 3 days now. She lives on another road and we have not seen her cat near our house. He also normally does not come around here. We exchanged photos and will keep an eye out for each other’s cats.

All night, I waited for Gerald’s familiar meow and yowl, hoping I would hear it once again. But there was none.

This morning, we went out looking for him again. We even walked to the back road, in case he’s there, but again, there were no signs of him. Not Creamy too. But we saw Socks.

Creamy had been coming to the porch for about a week and this disturbed Gerald, but in the last few days, Gerald was able to eat in the porch together with Creamy, about 1.5 metres away, which is already an improvement. Gerald did not run away or stay away from Creamy.

Creamy did not come at all yesterday.

There could be so many reasons why Gerald hasn’t come back.

I’m really hoping to hear that all-too-familiar meow and yowl again.

Please come back soon, Gerald. Wherever you are now, please be safe.

I have already sent out Gerald’s photos to friendly neighbours and the guards. Am also checking with PAWS.

Please come back, Gerald. Yowl, whine, meow all you want….just come back.
