It’s 4.30pm now and there is still no sign of Gerald.
I’ve checked the CCTV in the porch and he was last seen at around 7.34am yesterday morning heading towards the right.
This sudden disappearance reminds me of Timmy, also a ginger cat, and also very vocal. Timmy disappeared suddenly one afternoon and he never came back. After about a month, a neighbour said she saw him walking on the ledge, though. That was many years ago. Timmy was not happy with Mr Zurik had that time. Mr Zurik remained and Timmy left.
I’ve been out to search for Gerald many times today. I couldn’t help wishing that I would see him walk through the front gate, or coming back from the neighbour’s roof as he often does whenever he sees me or knows I’m around. And yes, meowing loudly.
I miss that yowling and the meowing.
Husband has a theory that maybe “his family” has taken him back to the kampung for the weekend. But did Gerald even have another home? We’ve walked around the neighbourhood calling for him and we did not hear any yowling in return.
When we kept him indoors for 35 days following Misty’s accident, he was usually yowling.
Where could he be?
I’ve been listening intently all day, at even the slightest and most distant sounds, hoping it would be Gerald’s meowing.
