I went back this afternoon to see Gerald, bringing raw chicken gizzards. But he refused to eat any of them. I resorted to putting the pieces of gizzards into his mouth and this, he ate. But the vet said he has to eat by himself.
Luckily I also brought canned food…so I tried this next.
Gerald, if you don’t eat by yourself, you cannot go home.
With some coaxing…
He eats!!
So, tentatively, the vet says Gerald should be able to go home tomorrow. Hooray!
But I would still need to monitor his shoulder wound and his wellbeing, so it’s going to be a few weeks of confining him (again!) and let’s hope he won’t yowl.
However, he was already yowling nonstop at the vet’s!
If possible, I would like to keep Gerald indoors at Bunny’s Place with his biological family. Really, I would. But the yowling….and also his mental state and happiness.
One day at a time.
Meanwhile, something happened while I was driving to the vet’s today (please see next post).
