Jayden came home from school and sees Juno!
Jayden is really excited so I had to keep reminding him to be gentle. He was. Juno is also not afraid of Jayden at all.
I fed Juno his lunch and Jayden wanted to sit on my other lap too.
Jayden wanted to take Juno downstairs to play, but I said Juno has to stay upstairs for now. Then, Jayden brought a big basket for Juno.
Juno was rescued from the middle of the road yesterday afternoon when I was driving out alone to see Gerald. So, there’s no way Jayden could have known about Juno.
Funnily, this morning, Jayden told his mum, Sihui, “Ama catch kitten”. This morning! In his house. How could he have known?? I checked and nobody had told Jayden about Juno or any little kitten at all.
How did Jayden know? Maybe he overheard the adults mentioning it yesterday.
We also drove through that road twice today and there was no sign at all of the calico kitten. In fact, husband said he also drove through that road yesterday evening before I came back from the vet’s, after he heard about the whole episode and he did not see any signs of the remains of any accident. Could it be that the calico kitten (or cat?) recovered and went away? I definitely did not see any blood stains even while the calico cat was struggling. Hopefully, that’s what happened and the calico cat was just stunned and is safe.
Since everything happened so fast yesterday and as I try to recall what I saw, the think the calico “kitten” was definitely bigger than Juno.
There was once Jia-Wen and I were driving along a road and we saw an adult cat limp across the road. It was the main road and cars were slowing down as the cat limped across, probably just hit by a car. We were on the opposite side and was not able to get to that road. But by the time we did, the cat was nowhere to be found at all. We searched everywhere and there were no signs.
Cats can be very resilient and tough.
