Gerald’s updates and the new bully on our road

The vet updated this evening that Gerald’s temperature is 38.3 degrees (normal) without the aid of any anti-inflammatories the whole day. I guess that’s encouraging news.

He is still refusing to eat on his own, but when food is placed into his mouth, he willingly swallows. I’ve noticed that every day too. Maybe the clinic environment is just too stressful for him.

I asked if Gerald can be discharged tomorrow and the vet said she would be off and Gerald will be under another vet. If Gerald’s temperature is stable, he can most likely be discharged, barring any unforeseen new circumstances.

I hope Gerald can come home tomorrow.

This morning’s photo.

Meanwhile, this evening, husband says he spotted a very big, fierce-looking, gangster-like white-grey cat passing through our road and looking in. This big cat is unneutered (he has a big face) and wears a collar.

When I heard about it, I quickly asked one of my neighbours if this is the bully-cat from another road. She had told me about this bully-cat from another road who has been going into people’s houses to terrorise their pet cats. Really badly, too.

From the description, ie. “short-tail Siamese, big-sized, wears a collar”, I think it is the same cat.

Perhaps this was the cat who fought with Gerald and injured him so badly.

If so, the bully has extended his territory to our road now….

Apparently, people from the other road has complained about this bully-cat, but the owner doesn’t keep him confined indoors.
