I’ve been calling Doggy by the name of “Lizzie” on my own for a few days now. Her mild-mannered and sweet demeanour reminds me of the character Lizzie McGuire, so Lizzie it is.
Since morning until now, Lizzie has been going in and out of our gate as she pleases, whenever she likes.
She’s checking out our porch.
And seems to like this spot in our porch.
She’s welcome to come in anytime she likes since she can just stroll in through the bars of our gate. We are thinking of not netting up our gate since it’s her entrance into our porch now. In case there is any danger, at least she can come in by herself.
We went out just now and as we were approaching our area, we saw Lizzie on the road outside our gated neighbourhood. She had wandered outside now. I wonder if she was looking for us or looking for more food. But when she saw our car, she followed us back. We stopped and I opened the car door, hoping she would come in (who knows, right?), but she did not. Anyway, she followed us all the way back to our house.
On the way, we met the neighbourhood gardener. He is kind to animals too. He told us he had been feeding Lizzie as well with whatever we can, but a neighbour (it’s actually the Cmpl) was telling him not to and asking me to shoo Lizzie away. Well, that is not unexpected. We cannot expect everyone to sympathise with street animals. It’s a good thing, though, that I’ve already informed Cmpl that we are feeding Lizzie with the intention of luring her into our compound and that a kindly neighbour has agreed to adopt her. At least Cmpl knows and we hope he will be tolerant.
