This afternoon, I chanced upon a random check of Gerald’s shoulder wound and I saw pus flowing out!
Since Gerald came back from the clinic, there had been no pus, so I quickly cleaned it off thoroughly and informed the vet.
The vet said this means that the infection hasn’t cleared yet, but it’s also a good thing, because we get a chance to clean off the pus. Gerald is already on antibiotics, so we would just continue with the daily protocol of cleaning and giving him his medication.
My guess is, perhaps some other abscess deep inside has burst and hence, the pus. After all, this shoulder wound is a very deep gaping hole.
Apart from this, Gerald is his usual self.
Today is the first time since coming home where I think the hole is smaller.
Peek-a-boo!! Jayden says the e-collar is like his swimming float. He’s right!
“Don’t touch the wound!”, says Jayden.
Gerald, please don’t yowl tonight. We already have a lot to do (next post, please).
