Lizzie came through our open gate this morning and husband closed the gate, but she got suspicious and instead of eating, she decided she should ensure she had a way out. I called the adopter, but he wasn’t free to come at that time.
So, forgoing food, she desperate tried to find a way out through the wire-netting.
In her desperation and strong will, she tore through the netting and stepped out of the gate.
Another failure.
Husband secured the wire netting further by using a few layers. While he was doing it, Cisco and Charlie came to get some food for themselves. Socks also came.
Since securing the wire netting with multiple layers, Lizzie decided she will not come into our porch anymore now.
We saw her wandering outside our area again and she followed our car back, but refused to come into our porch.
So, I left the food outside the gate for her. She refused to touch the food. Instead, the crows benefitted.
I also spoke to the neighbourhood chief guard and he said Cmpl had asked him to catch and get rid of Lizzie. He tried and this angered Lizzie and now Lizzie growls at him. Of course she would, right? Cmpl also said Lizzie is fierce and “will bite”.
Lizzie is actually a very good-natured dog. She plays with cats, with other dogs and she escorts certain human walkers in the park. She is smart to know who has good intentions and who doesn’t.
But she will not be caught, trapped or confined.
If this were a kinder world, she would get to live out her life the way she wants.
