Creamy has had this chronic cough/sneezing for a long time. It’s chronic but it’s not ongoing. It kind of reminds me of old people who cough or sneeze in the morning and then, they are okay throughout the day.
Many months ago, I had wanted to take him to the vet, but I was concerned in case his owner was also giving him medicines for it and I would not want to overdose him. Since it wasn’t getting worse, I let it be.
Some time last week, the cough/sneezing came on again. I gave him Cetirizine and Bromhexine and I actually tried to nebulise him, but it proved to be an impossible task. I could carry him into the house without too much struggle, but I absolutely could not get him into the carrier to be nebulised. He’s so big and strong now, he resisted. Husband helped but can you imagine how strong he is….two humans could not get him into the carrier! So, there was nothing much we could do. If we cannot even get him into a carrier, we won’t be able to take him to the vet at all.
Luckily, after four days of Cetirizine and Bromhexine, he seemed much better. The thing is, the cough/sneeze, if it happens, only happens early in the morning. And throughout the day, he would be fine.
Maybe Creamy is an old cat.
But he is eating well. He comes twice daily for meals and demands for only raw food. Despite the cough/sneezing, he still eats. So I think it’s not cat flu. Maybe it’s just some chronic airway congestion that happens when the weather is cold.
Creamy loves raw chicken gizzards and meat. He is also willing to eat Coco&Joe’s and Cubgrub, so that’s good. And he only wants raw food. Clever boy.
