Juno’s dinner

The vet’s concern about raw food is that it’s not cooked and therefore may have a higher amount of bacteria and parasites. So I decided to steam a bit of Cubgrub’s CKD Chicken for Juno’s dinner. Amongst Cubgrub’s flavours, only the CKD Chicken can be steamed because it doesn’t contain any bone, only ground eggshell powder. Any raw food that contains bone should not be cooked because cooked bone splinters. Cubgrub’s CKD Chicken is a complete diet, unlike many of the canned chicken which are complementary (meant as snacks).

The aroma of the steamed CKD Chicken was absolutely fragrant. After it had cooled, I offered it to Juno. As expected, Juno had taken a long, long afternoon nap after returning from the vet’s. This is expected after vaccination.

Juno was suspicious of the strange food and didn’t want any of it until I used my finger to dab some gravy onto her mouth. She finally started eating, though not voraciously (maybe not feeling too well from the vaccination) and finished half of it. Okay, something is better than nothing.

Later, I offered some of the RC Babycat kibble, but she didn’t want any of it.

Hopefully Juno will feel better tomorrow, after the effects of the vaccination wears off.
