It has happened twice already this week.
Are Creamy and Gerald mindreaders? And from a distance at that, too!
A few days ago, we were going out in the late afternoon and I worried that dinner would be delayed for Creamy and Gerald. Since they aren’t at the porch all the time and only come in for meals, they would have to wait for me to return to have their dinner.
But what do you know? They actually came to the porch about half an hour before I left. So I managed to give them a very early dinner!
How did they know??
And today again, the same thing happened. We were going out at 1.10pm and would only be expected to return before 7pm. Normally dinner time is 5pm. Again, I was worried that Creamy and Gerald would have to wait at least two hours for me to return.
Well, at around 12.30pm, both of them came to the porch to wait for food! It’s not their normal time.
I think both of them can read my mind to a certain extent. Maybe not in great detail, but perhaps they can sense worry in me. And they will respond accordingly to alleviate that worry.
So I fed them at 12.30pm and when we returned before 7pm this evening, Creamy was waiting in the porch with Lizzie while Gerald was under a car on the road. Gerald was too scared to come out so I had to coax him out and feed him in the garden again.
Strange bedfellows, these two. They called a truce in the afternoon and could eat together, but by evening, Gerald was terrified of Creamy again.
In any case, what clever cats – at mindreading! If only Creamy would read my mind about wishing he would not bully Gerald!
