Juno’s diarrhoea seems to have stopped for now, but she has vomited twice now.
I read that the side effects of Baycox (the drug that she needs for the coccidiosis) are vomiting, diarrhoea and loss of appetite. Sigh.
And she has to take both Baycox and Kaolin-Pectin; both of which are so, so unpalatable. I don’t remember Kaolin-Pectin being so horrible in taste when I gave it to other cats before, but Juno absolutely hates it and froths at the mouth. I have to give each medicine twice a day, and they have to be given two hours apart from each other.
I also read that if Baycox causes vomiting, I should give it after food, which is what I did just now. But the moment Juno even smells the Baycox she already froths at the mouth. The vet already warned me that Baycox is difficult to administer because of its taste. Juno frothed at the clinic too and spat out some.
With so much force feeding, my finger has been bitten multiple times now and is swollen.

Juno was still okay after coming back from the vet’s.

Snuggling up with Riley in the box.

Finally, Juno is able to get some rest.
All the force feeding and the two unpalatable medicines are really taking a toll on her. One would think with so much advancement in pharmaceutical science, they would make medicine more palatable for animals?
