We visited Juno this afternoon when we took Tabs and Ginger for their check-up.
Juno has been moved out from the isolation ward to the normal ward now. But she’s afraid of the barking dogs. Luckily one particularly noisy dog went home today.
Eating on her own again! This is great.
Husband stayed with Juno when I was with Tabs and Ginger for their check-up.
Since Juno can only be discharged after she has well-formed stools, she will be hospitalised for another night. Hopefully, tomorrow she will have well-formed stools.
At closing time, the vet texted that Juno had soft stools. Yay! This is an improvement from the watery diarrhoea. The vet checked the stools and there is no more coccidia (as yesterday too) but there was a lot of bad bacteria overgrowth. So she has a bacterial gut infection. Hopefully the antibiotics will do its work.
Juno needed to achieve two milestones – to be able to eat by herself (achieved!) and to produce well-formed stools (on the way there!).
Get well real soon, Juno!
I finally plucked up courage to ask the vet if Juno might have lymphoma (because of her symptoms), but the vet doesn’t think so. What a relief!! I haven’t had the courage to ask this question for the past few days now, but I’ve been reading up a lot on this and I feared this. Well, it’s not!!
The coccidia is gone now. It’s bad bacteria in the gut.
