Juno’s news and the sweet little thing that she is

So far, Juno’s faeces have been nice and well-formed. They are still just a bit soft, but maybe that is due to the diet. I gave her Kaolin-Pectin this morning.

Tomorrow there is one more dose of Promax and that completes the medication except for the supplement, Cobalaplex, which is given on alternate days for 12 more days.

Her butt sore is taking quite long to heal. It’s still swollen and pink. I’ve changed the cream from Triderm to Fustadin now. Hopefully it helps better.

She’s on the e-collar for awhile after I apply the cream on the sore to prevent her from licking off the cream. At other times, she doesn’t lick it much.

Juno is really such a sweet little kitten. She was litter-box trained the moment I brought her home and has been so since. Never missed even once. When she was sick, she made it to the litter-box for all the diarrhoea, and when she was vomiting, she made it to the bathroom and vomited only on the bathroom floor. It’s remarkable that such a young kitten is so smart and “considerate”.

She already knows her name too. When we call for her, she comes out from where she is. Or, I just wriggle her favourite pink stick toy with the bell, and she would come out without fail.

She follows husband and I upstairs when we take a bath and waits outside the bathroom door like a loyal puppy!

She is a real darling.

And when she plays with her balls, she picks one out from the container, plays with it, then puts it back into the container.

Juno also took to raw food instantly. It’s just unfortunate that she contracted coccidiosis from it. That’s what we suspect.

Juno’s situational awareness is amazing, especially for one so young.

And of course, Juno is Jayden’s best friend in our house. She knows how to play with Jayden and doesn’t scratch or bite him.

The reunion of the two best friends this afternoon:

Every cat is different.

As for the Blondies, it was a nightmare trying to litter-box train them, if you can remember! I had to resort of the finest cat litter, ie. Cat’s Best Sensitive, before they finally used the litter-box. Everything was too prickly for their delicate little paws. But the “training” didn’t last. Now, they pee wherever they like, especially in their room or on the table, even though they have two litter-boxes, one long sandpit, two more smaller sandpits and an entire garden.

I think they still don’t know their names too. Even if they do, they certainly don’t respond when I call them!

And they don’t learn the rule that they aren’t supposed to sneak out to the Safehouse. They keep sneaking out all the time and it’s a challenging game of hide-and-seek to get them back.

And of course, they don’t know their biologically- and species-appropriate food. They don’t want to eat raw but want to be urban junkies.

The Blondies’ situational awareness is quite lacking too.

Husband jokes that the Blondies are like this because I called them “the Blondies”. And now he came up with an even better theory….

They take after their father, Gerald.
