Ginger has almost-solid stools!

I’ve been doing poop checks every hour.

In the last few hours, Ginger and Smurfy have been asking for their regular food. Both have absolutely refused to eat ID (sigh). Maybe they associated it with the feeling of being sick. Maybe they feel better now so they want back their regular food.

Smurfy has been asking for raw food and also their regular kibble. None of the new foods.

I guess my plan to diversify and offer them cooked foods backfired. But I’ll work on this tomorrow. Right now, the focus is on getting both Ginger and Smurfy free from this diarrhoea first.

I just did a poop check and found almost-solid stools in one of the sand boxes. Scrutinised the CCTV footage and it’s Ginger!!

Thank goodness for our CCTV!

The stools were actually quite solid already, so that’s a huge improvement. Tomorrow is Ginger’s last Promax dosage and after that, we shall continue with our own probiotics. I don’t think he needs the Kaolin-Pectin anymore.

I hope Smurfy’s stool consistency improves soon.

And I certainly hope nobody else falls ill. Minnie did not want to eat her dinner, despite me offering various foods, but she’s been known to do that once in a while, just as Robin does. I hope Minnie will eat tomorrow.

Right now, I don’t think I want to diversity their types of food anymore. If they are fed-up and don’t want to eat, so be it. If diversifying and trying out new food leads to diarrhoea, even though I only introduce a small amount, that’s one risk and stress I can certainly do without.

The Monsters are on raw food and I’ll just let them stay on raw food. After all, it’s the most biologically-appropriate food for them.

Change may be good, but not always! “Don’t rock the boat or reinvent the wheel”, as they say.
