Juno has solid stools

I was wondering why I didn’t see any of Juno’s stools in the two litter boxes all day today except for once in the early morning.

Then, I realised why…she has been spending a lot of time upstairs. So I went up to check the litter box upstairs and true enough, there were two spots of almost-solid stools there.

And just now, I couldn’t find her again, so I shook the feather with the bell and that attracted her down the stairs. I went up to check and voila…there were solid stools!

Yay!!

Juno also ate a full meal of Fur/Ball Chicken neat this afternoon and it’s good that she can tolerate it without any issues. Then, I can use it as her cooked food diet. Somehow, even though the Salmon is their bestseller, somehow our cats don’t like it. And that’s really a pity because salmon could have been a different protein for them. Most of their cat food is chicken-based.

I don’t want them to end up with chicken allergy as Indy did last time. He had seven weeks of bloody diarrhoea which our vet could not solve. But he remained active throughout. Finally, I searched and found an article with a similar case; the caregiver solved it by giving raw rabbit. So I did that for Indy too, and the bloody diarrhoea stopped! It was a case of chicken allergy, having eaten mostly chicken for too long. All that was needed was a novel protein like rabbit. Ever since then, I make sure all our cats have novel proteins like rabbit, duck and quail.

However, now, Akira eats mostly chicken because she simply refuses to eat anything else. That is going to be a problem.

There Juno is, upstairs!

If she really continues to use the upstairs litter box, then I’ll be doing extra exercise walking up to check it a few times a day. That’s good for me!
