The big difference between Creamy and Gerald

Of course every cat is different.

But here’s one big difference between Creamy and Gerald.

When Creamy arrives to eat, he doesn’t make a sound. But somehow I’d know he is here. At most, he will watch from the door to attract my attention. And he will eat heartily. He’s not choosy. All he wants is a meal of raw food. He’d eat raw chicken gizzards, raw chicken breast meat, Coco&Joe’s and Cubgrub. He doesn’t want canned food or kibble at all. Maybe he gets that elsewhere.

Because he is willing to eat Coco&Joe’s, I tend to give him more of this so that he has a balanced meal.

After he has eaten, he would usually go off. He doesn’t make any fuss.

Gerald, on the other hand, as you already know, is too vocal for his own good. He makes so much noise to announce his arrival. I would quickly feed him just to keep him quiet (that’s like giving in to the demands of trouble-maker).

If I’m lucky, I get the food right. If I’m not, it gets very challenging. His taste ranges from raw chicken gizzards, raw chicken breast meat to canned tuna and kibble. He doesn’t really like Coco&Joe’s or Cubgrub. How would I know what he wants at what time? I don’t. There is no pattern. If I give the “wrong food”, he will not eat. Then, he just yowls and yowls until I get it right.

Sometimes, his appetite is so good, he can eat three types of food consecutively. That means, a raw meal, foll0wed by a canned food meal and kibble to top it off.

I am learning to read his yowls to decipher what he wants because his yowling causes so much disturbance to everyone.

This is Gerald yowling, but guess what, he’s just yowling for attention. After I attended to him, he went off.

But sometimes the yowling means he wants another meal. I just have to know. It can get pretty frustrating at times, but that’s part of the work of looking after cats!
