Drama-king Gerald

This morning, Creamy unexpectedly turned up at 4.45am for breakfast, the same time as Gerald.

So our drama-king Gerald refused to eat (he fears Creamy). He just sat there staring at his food, unable to eat a bite, while Creamy enjoyed his breakfast.

I force-fed him, but I know it’s a waste of time because force-fed food doesn’t count for Gerald. He will still insist he is hungry and wants to eat on his own. I cannot comprehend the logic of this, but never mind. Who can?

So I let him be. His canned food plus his raw chicken gizzards went to the Monsters who gladly sapu-ed habis. Because nowadays Gerald will ask for one can of food after his full bowls of raw gizzards and breast meat, I mix everything in for him. Sekaligus.

Later, he came back meowing for food again.

So I prepared a plate of canned food and what do you know…this time, husband had to leave for work. Gerald is scared of him, so off he scuttered again, to the neighbour’s roof to seek cover.

I had to wait for husband to leave before calling for Gerald.

It took a few minutes for him to come back. But he stared at the food as though saying, “Ini tak cukup ni, where are my raw chicken gizzards?”

No, Gerald, you eat this first. You will get your raw gizzards later. Not right now. If for some reason he doesn’t eat, I cannot make the Monsters eat up his leftovers again.

So he ate, but was rather unsatisfied. Makan sajalah, Gerald.

He did finish all his food.

The thing with this drama-king is that he will yowl till no end if he isn’t satisfied, so I have to give in to him just so that he won’t disturb the neighbours. But at the same time, I’m also subtly training him that some of his yowls will not be entertained.

There’s just so much you can demand from me, Gerald. You already have 3-4 meals a day and we have to deal with all your drama, so please….give us some peace and quiet at other times.
