A rescue in the rain (a Maltese)

This Maltese was wandering in the rain on my road this afternoon, alerted by Lizzie’s owner. He’s a pet, so it was easy enough for me to pick him up. He also looked rather familiar to me.

Then, I got a friend to post it in the neighbourhood chatgroup, hoping the owner would come and collect him but there was no response at all.

He was soaking wet and shivering, so we quickly towelled him dry and brought him in to dry him further with the hair-dryer.

Hungry, hungry, hungry! That’s him eating Cindy’s Tender Chicken, a food every dog likes!

I knew I’ve seen him before and if I’m not mistaken, he and his beagle friend has escaped twice from their house and I’ve taken them back home on both occassions too.

So since nobody responded in the neighbourhood chat, I let him settle down, and he did, most comfortably in our house, with Tabs, Riley and Juno too. He’s completely cat friendly.

Then, I drove road by road in my neighbourhood and I finally reached his house. True enough, it’s their dog. I told the owner to come with me in the car and I’ll drive her to collect her dog from our house.

In the car the owner told me that she wants to give this dog away and doesn’t wish to keep him anymore. His name is Snowball, is a Maltese and actually belongs to her friend. They were just doing the friend a favour by taking him over, but she cannot manage two dogs anymore now.

So, if anyone wishes to adopt Snowball (age unknown), please write to me and I’ll connect you with the owner.

Thank you.
