Juno tips the scales at 1.91kg!

A few days ago, Juno was 1.8kg for quite awhile and this morning, she tipped the scales at 1.91kg. A small win.

She’s been producing glorious poop too, so that’s all good.

Her diet consists of Cubgrub raw food, Fur/Ball cooked food and Monge Kitten kibble as a crunchy snack. For the raw food, I limit it only to chicken and rabbit. No quail for now.

Juno’s third vaccination will be in the middle of the month and after that, I hope her immunity grows stronger and there will be no medical mishaps anymore for a long, long time to come.

The vet shared that under TCM principles, it is advisable to wait until 7 months before spaying a female cat (that’s after the first heat) because the reproductive organ serves as a “second kidney” and the hormones it produces also contributes to growth. Even for males, it is advisable to wait and not do it too early (this, I already know for a long time now) unless there are extenuating circumstances like having to release back to the outdoors.

I asked another non-TCM vet about this and she too confirms that there is such research in the West as well, especially for dogs. She suggests it might apply to cats too.

Neutering is a human intervention, so we must continue to learn and do our best for the animals. We owe it to them.
