Are you just super fussy or are you ill, Juno?

It has been very difficult to feed Juno.

Ever since my hospitalisation and she’s been going in with the Blondies for some morning sunshine, I guess she has picked up their habits of being choosy over food. Luckily she hasn’t picked up their habit of peeing all over the place. Or has she?

Riley is her mentor and role model in the Safehouse because Tabs is anti-social to all cats (“I don’t like cats”, says Tabs).  And Riley grazes all day like a goat.  Juno is copying this eating pattern.  She prefers to eat Riley’s leftovers, even if it is the same food as what I’ve offered her.  Reminds me of Cleo – she would only eat Cow Mau’s leftovers.

This morning, I offered 9 types of food, staring with Cindy’s tuna (no), Fur/Ball chicken (no), B2N’s tuna sardine (no), Cindy’s chicken (no), Cubgrub’s chicken (no), cut chicken (no), Monge adult kibble (no), Monge kitten kibble (no), Equilibrio kibble (no).

So, it’s all “no”.  Maybe it was still too early in the morning.  Let’s hope it’s just that.

I do worry that she’s contracted another infection which hasn’t manifested yet.  When she had the coccidia infection, she was still active for at least two days before she crashed.

Breakfast buffet for the Blondies. All eat wet food (cooked and raw) except for Akira. That one is super stubborn.

The stubborn one. “I’d rather starve and die than eat wet food.”

Later, they will be served kibble. And good news, I’ve managed to convert them back to grainfree kibble.

Tak mahu makan – Riley and Juno. I’m not worried about Riley because she will graze later and her weight is good.  But Juno is still a kitten and should be eating 6% of her weight. I just calculated, that is 120g of food per day. Husband and I think she does meet this minimum requirement, though.

True enough, it was too early to eat, so she waited until the sun came up and she started grazing.

“Eat when the sun is up” – this is good advice from doctors who use nutrition to treat their patients.  Don’t eat after sunset, that is when the body needs to wind down and rest; this is for humans only because cats are nocturnal.

Riley too.

Juno waits for her fibre (the vet calls it “rabbit food”).

I have never ever encountered a cat who would eat up her supplements all by herself. Such a good cat!

Time for some affection!

Juno grazed again later and ate a lot. So ok, I think she’s fine. Let’s hope so.
